The Calgary Farmer’s Market
The West expansion of the beloved Calgary Farmer’s Market will feature two floors packed with 75 vendors, many of whom are of already a part of the south location off of Heritage Drive. The facility is expected to be inspired by industrial architecture, and provide market-goers with an abundance of open-air space, and an indoor-outdoor feeling. Local produce, goods, and an alfresco style dining environment will all be apart of the new market as well. The farmer’s market is designed to offer over 50,000 sq. ft of space and is expected to be open in the spring of 2020.
Partners Development Group will be launching a small commercial area at the entrance of its ARRIVE townhouse and villa development in Crestmont West. There will be a 10,000 sq. ft. child care centre operated by Willowbrae Academy. In addition to this, there will be approx. 7500 sq. ft. of boutique retail and professional services, in a configuration of approximately four to six bays. Depending on tenants, occupancy is projected for late fall of 2019.
Trinity Hills is another welcomed addition to west Calgary. The community will be anchored by Good Life Fitness, Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) and Save on foods. The vision for Trinity Hills is to provide a pedestrian-oriented street dining and retail experience. Once completed, there will be over 750,000 square feet of shopping and dining conveniences. The first stores are anticipated to open in 2019.
West by Shape Properties will feature 30 acres of commercial development. The overall vision for West is to be a cutting-edge modern heartbeat to the picturesque west side. West will offer open-air shopping with speciality and global brands. Dining options will feature both quick bites and culinary experiences. The plaza aims to keep the community connected year-round by hosting various events throughout the year. Shape has not placed a date to the opening of this development.
