First Nation’s history
Indian Village has been a key part of every Calgary Stampede since the exhibition’s inception in 1912. It’s a great way for visitors from around the globe to learn about and experience for themselves the traditions and culture of Canada’s First Nations. This year, Indian Village is bigger and better than ever before! Located in ENMAX Park, the village features a bannock booth, interpretive program, pow-wow competitions, a traditional flag raising, storytelling and fun family-friendly games, there is so many opportunities to learn about First Nations heritage.
Edge of your seat experiences
The Calgary Stampede is well-known for featuring various shows throughout the day that everyone in the family will love. This year, they are introducing guests to a whole new variety of exciting and explosive experiences! Along with the traditional Dog Bowl shows and BELL motocross experience in the Stampede Corral, this year will feature an impressive high dive act as well as a Midway Adventure Park where visitors can race up and down climbing walls, try their hand at axe throwing and even test their accuracy with a fun paintball challenge! This year’s new experiences give you the chance to create some fun new Stampede memories with friends and family.
Catch a tune
The Stampede may be a country-western themed event, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck listening to country music the whole time. There’s something for everyone over this 10 day celebration! This year’s Stampede will feature over 170 live music events on-site across 4 different venues. That’s over 100 hours of live music! A grand anniversary
Every year at the Calgary Stampede, the Grandstand show dazzles and delights spectators with an amazing mix of acrobatics, musicians, athletics and lights; all around one central theme. This year, the Grandstand show turns 50! With a milestone anniversary, expect to see a performance that will amaze! The focus of this year’s show is the Calgary community and it will feature international and world-class acrobats, athletes, musicians and so much more! And of course, don’t forget the amazing fireworks display at the end of the show. This year’s edition of the Grandstand show should leave you feeling a new sense of pride in the Calgary community.
